i need to get a better idea of how a tight lowB string should sound, teorics are all asimilated so dont stard posting its all about the gauge and no its about scale, clips worth more that a 10000000000 words.

Here are some soundclips of Dingwall basses. There are some clearly marked as low B sounclips.

Remember Dingwalls are variable scale fanned fret basses so the B is 37" scale while the G is 34" scale. Dingwall is considered the holy grail of low B by many, so this is IMO a good place to start.

Great question, I too have been wondering what a good B actually sounds likes. I can't wait to get home and listen to those clips. Now how about some good 34" and 35" B's?
