Head/Cab for slapping

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by ThePaste, Jan 13, 2001.

  1. I do enjoy slapping, and I'm getting pretty good at it. But my Peavey 112 just doesn't seem to get the right tone. What are your guys favorites for that Les Claypool type slapping tone? Oh yea, since I am poor, I meant the best one for under $300 =>8)

  2. ---- Les Claypool's Live Rig
Gallian Krueger MB450E 1x12 Combo Amp (speaker off)

ADA MP-2 Guitar MIDI Pre-amp (Modified by ADA's Todd Langer)

Digital Music MIDI Ground Control Footpedal

Mesa/Boogie Bass 400 Plus Power Amp

    Ampeg SVT-III head

    2 Mesa/Boogie "Powerhouse" Cabinet 1000 (4x10 + 1x15)

2 Mesa/Boogie 2x15 cabinets ("they still have mud on ’em from Woodstock ’94")

I thought Ampegs were'nt good for slapping? Guess so! :)
