Before I get another combo amp (looking at Yorkville XM200T) would I be able to get something comparable in quality for a price of about $450 or up to $500? A 2x12 cab would be nice but I haven't researched heads and cabs whatsoever so I don't know what to look for. Any suggestions?

Whats the difference in models at drbasscabs? I dont see any description differences other than watt handling.

Never mind, ignore me as I eat my foot.

It seems like DrBass cabs are very similarly priced to Avatar cabs which get a lot of praise around here. Would the Behringer BX300T be adequate for powering a 500w cab eveb though the head is 300w (obviously)?

The differences between the cabs on his website are basically materials and speakers. The RX's are MDF, the BL's are Birch ply. I'm guessing that the D's mean Delta (Eminence) and the B's Kappa? Not sure on that one.

Don't forget Low Down Sound cabs (www.lowdownsound.com). As you can tell from the multiple threads here on TalkBass.com, Avatar, Dr. Bass, Low Down Sound and Joey Nahas are all making some very good cabs for very good prices. Pick whichever suits your fancy (or go trolling for a good used cab), and get a used head (some older Acoustic and AMP heads can be found for pretty good prices). This will serve you better in the long run, IMHO.

My current rig is a Yorkville BM400H (bought used from a private party for $225), and Bag End S-15D (bought used at a shop for $199.00). I use a Sansamp BDDI to give it a more tube-type tone (bought it used for $100), and to also use as DI when needed.

That is just over $500.00, but without the Sansamp, it's quite a lot under.
