Headphone/practice amp with XLR in

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by OriginalCrash, Feb 17, 2009.

  1. Hey guys, I'm currently playing through a LMII, which of course, doesn't have a dedicated headphone out. I could always plug into the tuner out or effects send, but then I'm dealing with mono sound, mismatched impedance/levels, and the fact that it completely bypasses the eq and filters. So does anyone know of a good, solid (but still relatively cheap) headphone amp with an XLR in that I could use for practicing? To clarify, it's not that I can't find some by searching the web; I'm just looking more for recommendation/experience. Thanks.

Doubt you'd find a headphone amp with an XLR in, but why not get one that does regular line in and just grab an XLR - 1/4" cable for it?

I use my Soundcraft Spirit Notepad mixer. I can plug my bass straight and any other sources. It has a very healthy headphone output and can be used for many other things besides the bass.

here is one on ebay. They go for dirt cheap and sound pretty darn good!

I've been using the PM 351 for everything from cable-based in-ears to practice tool for playalongs.
