Too Late!!!
Now I need one of these...

Of course. The right tool to separate the top from the ribs too.
And use the previous tool to fix top to the ribs afterwards.

Hi,

This pickup heavily relies on your top arching. I have a really well-arched bass so there's a lot of pressure on the pickup, sounds good to my ears. I just simply remove the -10db from my GK MB150E amp (which is on because of my active electric basses) and there, sound! Also what I found out on the bandstand with the same pickup but with a different amp-bass combination is that you don't need too much volume because it really cuts through the band, I played with a Big Band, no trouble with volume what so ever. I would recommend checking a more double bass preferred amps like the GK I use or acoustic-image. A preamp could work too, or simply just put your amp to passive mode.

Hope I helped, Simon
