  1. (Deleted last post about Rotosound's)
Alright I mostly play jazz bass and I have a MIM un-modded brand-spanking new Fender Jazz. I was wondering what was the best strings for them. I just tried the Fender Nickel and they died pretty fast. I heard Rotosound was pretty good but also Elixer was. What will give me that nice mellow tone that Im looking for but will also have a nice slap tone.

on my MIM fender-J i use GHS BOOMERS,the guitar center near my house always has them on sale for 30.00$ for 3 sets! not to bad NO? i prefer the light to medium gauge size,45,60,80,100. i like a little lighter string on my j bass as opposed to my japanese p/j bass special, imo they are a pretty versitile string and hold up quite well and for the price you cant really go wrong, i enjoy trying out new strings,as long as you stick to a good name you cant really go TOO wrong
    have fun:bassist:
