:bassist: FNG here. I've been lurking and picking up a few pointers. I have been playing through a Yorkeville xm200 w/ xt.cab for about a year now. I admit I thought this was a crappy rig until I read the FAQ about how to use eq. I applied what I learned here and needless to say, this rig really sings now. A big thanks to you guys. I've been playing bass for a few years now (guitar for nearly 30 yrs.) and am still trying to get around this bass eq thing. Had an SWR sm400 w/ the parametric eq and never really did get that worked out the way I would have liked. Again, thanks for helping myself (and others) get back to the basics where it all starts. I feel I'm in the first step of a 12 step eq program. :D

    I've never heard a yorkville I didn't like....bass, accoustic, etc...

remember with the model you have you can also add another 8ohm cab for more volume/bass...

Hey, thanks. I never considered that. I will have to give that a try...should make an impressive little stack for small/medium venues.

I used the XM200 for a year. No problem getting a decent sound on gigs and I never had to use an extension. It's nice that you can add one or two though. My only complaint was hauling it around with that one handle on top.

But for the money, it can't be beat. With a decent bass, good strings and proper playing technique it really sounds good. Nobody ever complained that I wasn't using an Eden or SWR or anything else. A surprising number of working musicians use them.
