I have a Vintage 24-fret, 4-string bass, and im worried. I have a 'buzzy fret' - however hard or soft i press down the 4th Fret on the 'A' string, it still buzzes. I was wondering if anyone else had the same problem, or if anyone knows how to fix the problem without spending big bucks.
Or is there no cure, and im destined to spend the rest of my life with a buzzy Vintage...

  2. Take it to a shop and have their tech look at it. Sounds like the 5th fret is a little high and might need to be lowered down slightly. Not something I would recommend you do youself.

Of course, had you searched the archives on this site, you would have found that out for yourself.
