Claims to be a Peavey Cirrus 12 volt active?!!
I would have guessed a Peavey Cirrus just from the headstock and body shape. Doubt anyone would bother to copy one, likely legit.
USA or Import Model?
A U.S.A. Cirrus is a pretty amazing bass, cause around here they go really cheap. If that one is american, and the right price, you could have a gem on your hands.
Edit- 12Volts? What kind of battery?
Good looking out Paula! Appreciate it! Yeah I'm doing the deal today even if it's an import model I played a grind years ago and it wasn't bad at all.. So my thinking is this has to be an improvement.
In Canada, a Cirrus import goes for about $300 u.s., and a U.S.A. about $700-800 u.s. Happy shopping!
12 volts??? Yep that's what got me confused? Also the person I'm transacting with states they'll lmk where it was made when they get home this afternoon..
P.S. I love Canada!! Just saying
Takes 2 9volt batteries..
I would guess that's an import. Can't be sure from the pictures. U S made Cirri were 18v with VFL pup's.
Just verified with the vendor that it is an 18volt system..
Nice, how much?
Didn't the USA models have a graphite overlay on the headstock?
Yeah I thought the same thing that's why I'm asking the fine folks here on Talkbass for any expertise they're willing to share..
FWIW, I briefly owned an import Cirrus 5, a couple years ago. There wasn't a thing about it I liked besides the aesthetics. I never tried changing the strings, so there's a fair chance it was better than I think--but the low B was dull and I couldn't get the action where I wanted without a lot of clank.
At the other end, my bass instructor owns a USA model... which hangs in his office next to his Grammys. It's a killer instrument.
hop over to the Cirrus club and ask them, they will know for certain...not all of the USA's had the graphite overlay on the headstock
Based on the headstock, knobs, and bridge, I'm 99% positive that's an import BXP Cirrus.
That's what I'm hoping for Thundar.
Hopefully, it's in good condition as the person really didn't want to take the best pics.
Winner is BrBss!!!!
The bxp model cirrus is still a decent bass. If I remember right they used a similar if not identical electronics package to the USA models
The individual bridges make me fairly sure it's an import.
Still a decent bass.
Would still have the VFL pups (that's a good thing).
A good setup and new strings to suit your goals
will help a lot.
If that still isn't nirvana, maybe an aftermarket preamp
