    Hi,
apologies for bumming info in my very first post, but a friend has a beautiful old SB1000 and I need help to date it, the online info is vague at best from what i can see, the serial number on the rear of the headstock is 7004. it is the earlier type headstock with the more ornate logo, and more pronounced shaped batwing tip.
    any help would be fantastic.
    cheers

Well the first number usually indicates the year it was made. But since the SB-1000s were supposedly only made from 1978-87, I'm a little puzzled by the serial number starting with a "7". That would either mean 1977 or 1987 - and it can't be '87 since you have the older headstock. Are you sure it's not 07004? That would make a lot more sense, meaning a 1980 production year. Otherwise, maybe it's a really early model from 1977? Please post pics if possible, or double check the serial number.

  4. Try to avoid stuffy dimly lit resturaunts the first time as they generally don't like higher pressure romance off the bat. A good old dinner and a movie will get you in the door. Avoid Sushi, they can be very sensitive and may feel that assuming they like sushi is racist.

  8. Gotta be quick!

And to be polite, if someone had not already provided the OP with useful information I would have held off. I certainly had no idea.

Good luck with your date! A birthdate of 1980 will put her at about 29 - perfect.
