well- i have some very big auditions coming up- and they all require at least some fretless- so i am looking at these F basses- the deal is, it doesn't hurt to show up with a Canadian bass, for one- almost all bassists working for this orgainzation play F basses- its a circus type gig - can you guess what it is? and i have a choice- i can make it so both of these are about the same $$- so which would you choose? the new red BNF5 with the preamp , or the used , and mint BNf Custom 5- passisve, neck thru- figured maple top- just curious to see what you all think!

Well if you need help with looks (which is probably the only one i can help you with :D ) I would go with the custom.

So ones active and ones figured maple? I personally would choose the red one. I think it looks better too. JMO

  5. Adrian: The new red one with the pre-amp will give you the modern look and sound that fit the Cirque du Soleil material.

That means you won't be needing the custom, and could just send it to me!:D ;)

BTW - Good luck with the audition, my man!

Can you see the wood on the red one? I like to see wood. Both look great.

I'd go with the one that has an adjustable bridge...it's about time F-Bass offered that option.

of course, neither does- it has been a thought- ive never had an unadjustable bridge- however, i figure- if its right to start with... and all that tone is there...
