Help explain p-series carvin basses

    So...whats the deal with the p-series does it stand for piezo? If it does what do they do?

    Yes, it does.

    Piezo pickups are normally mounted in the bridge saddles, and pick up string vibrations by changes in pressure on the piezocrystal element.

    They provide a different sound than magnetic pickups. A little more 'woody', although they have the capability of adding tons of string noise, fret noise, and annoying high frequencies.

    On a fretless, they can get you a little bit closer to an acoustic sound, if used properly. On a fretted, they will add lots of annoying noise, unless you have exemplary technique. They can add nuances to tapping and to aggressive slap playing.
