Hi guys 'n' gals, I'm hoping to enlist your help. I have been trying to do U.S. wide searches to locate an "already built" Pedulla MVP model fretted six string bass. I've had no luck, except for one store which has a Hexabuzz (fretless 6). Unfortunately this one resembles a big blueberry! I'd even be willing to have a Hex fretted by a local luthier if I can find the right one. I'd like Gold, Amber, Tobacco, Vintage Cherry, you know..."earth tones". Definitely would prefer the already fretted MVP 6. I'm hoping to find one in time for a 50th birthday present on Feb. 1st. Having Mike Pedulla build one would make it a VERY late present! Many thanks in advance for any help you can give! Jim T. Next time you're in your local shop or Guitar Center could you let me know what you see? Email me via private message or @ home email if you like. Many Thanks, Jim T.
I've never seen one of those, that'd definitly a custom job probably. I'm very skeptical about Guitar Center, they have screwed me twice already. I bought my PentaBuzz (redburst) from them because they are the only dealer in my state that can get their hands on one. They did not give me the new owners kit and kept telling me "there isn't one". I had Pedulla call them to get things straight! The company is awesome and they truly care about their customers. I went back to Guitar Center (I am now unwelcomed there from the looks of it OH WELL hahahaha ) and they actually have a green burst AND a RedBurst Pentabuzz in stock. I checked out both serial# and they are both 1999 models w/the old logo. I wonder if Guitar Center only can get NOS PentaBuzz models. They had a 2001 Rapture 5 string also in stock. Red color, not bad. Anyway, just be aware when you buy stuff from Guitar Center. I don't know if all GC are the same but....... Good Luck with finding that 6string, that would be pretty impressive.
Thanks Prog. The MVP 6s ARE out there but I'll need the help of you fine folks who live in other states to find 'em! Please keep an eye out for me and email. Enjoy your Pedulla Prog. They're great instruments and Mike and Christine are great people. Jim T.
You could try calling Pedulla and asking them if they've shipped out any MVP Hexabuzz basses lately. Maybe they could give you a list of stores they've sent them off to. Most, if not all, would probably be custom orders. I had a chance to play one about a decade ago, then got to talk to Mike Pedulla about it at a bass clinic...very nice guy and a very nice bass.. Good Luck!
Hi Ben F, Pedulla has only provided me with sheet listing all the Guitar Centers in the country. G.C. did a search for me on their computer and has come up empty handed. Thanks for keepin' an eye out for me guys and gals. Jim
