Hi all. 10 years ago I bought a (then) older Ibanez 4 string. It had active pickups, painted neck, and triangular shaped headstock (smaller & pointier than the modern SR heads). Sounded amazing, but being broke and hungry.. it was eaten by the pawn monster. Would love to find the same model again: thanks for any help!
cool.. I don't have any other photos of my old bass to show the body, but that looks similar. Did the RB800 have a painted or sanded neck?
I believe they were painted. The RB800 was pretty much the exact same thing as the SR800LE, except for the shape of the headstock.
ha. it's a small world after all? lol. someone is selling a black RB800 for $650 + shipping. That seems high, or have these aged that well?
It seems a bit high. The only made them for a short time, but seriously, you can get an SR800LE for half that (or less), and, like I said, except for the headstock, they're the same instrument. Heck, I'm in the process of getting a lefty RB850 for half of that price.
Looks suspiciously like a Tune Bass Maniac. I think that was a common style in Japan back in the 80's
