Help identifying a bassist from SNL in maybe late 80's or early 90s...

Discussion in 'Bassists [BG]' started by The_Ryst, Mar 5, 2006.

  1. He has long hair and he's sporting what appears to be a fender bass...not close enough to tell if it's a jazz or a p-bass.

It's an episode with Bruce Willis hosting and Neil Young as musical guest. I'm watching the rerun right now, and the bassist has long hair and a hat on, they played a song during the monologue where Bruce Willis lpayed some mean harmonica and the bass was pretty happening to the track. the guy was obviously enjoying it.

    any clue who this was?

Sounds like T-Bone Wolk! He's a excellent player, one of my favorite pick players.

Wolk authored one of the very few 'decent' electric Bass books from the '70s...Rock Riffs For Bass.

I get to meet him in two weeks as a friend we have is his brother - so what do you ask? Nice hat? Great groove huh? Actually he has a new site and I was amazed to see that he has played and produced so many albums

  10. +1 I believe he spent so time with Hall and Oates and Carly Simon through the years... as bassist and music director. Great player.
