Help Identifying Fender 9050 Flats

Discussion in 'Strings [BG]' started by bgavin, May 21, 2002.

  1. I bought a MIM J fretless that has flats of an unknown origin on it. There is a light green color silk on each string where it strings through the bridge.

Q: Are these Fender flats or something else?

The bass is very new, according to the seller.

My 9050Ms have light teal (green) silk at the ball end, and no silk at the tuner end. Does that help?

How do you like them? I love 'em!
  3. Yes it helps. That is the exact description of what I have.

The flat wound portion of the string is all the way to the tuning posts, and wrapped around. My TI strings tape away so only the core (and silk) is wrapped around the tuners.

I played them briefly last night (un-amplified) and find them as smooth as my TI flats. I won't have more of an opinion until I get to play them for awhile.
