I got this a while ago in MA. The music store owner thought it was a Barker Bass from 1986. But he was whistling and looking in the other direction..It's stamped '5' past the 24th fret, so maybe there are 4 others out there. The bridge seems distinctive. Ivory position markers, Bartolinis, with volume/blend/ B&T and last knob seems to control the Intensity of the B&T. Oddly, very well balanced, Great tones, but the wooden bridge ass'y may give it some hum, and it appears to have No height adjustment, save for shimming.

Jut wondering what in the world this thing is..

Its definitely not like anything I have ever seen, from any maker.

Its kinda cool, in a different way.

Have you tried to confirm with Barker?

I seem to recall someone using the apostrophe as their mark/brand, but can't seem to come up with anything about it. Looks pretty custom to me. I really dig it.

It must be from Bill's son, Bill's work is much cleaner than this bass

I've emailed Barker, as in Vertical, awaiting reply, but suspect his design sense maybe wouldn't have changed so drastically, even over 20+ years...And I think the Apostrophe on the headstock May be a Bass Clef.

    Minor Update...

Heard back from Lee Barker, what a nice guy! he says he's only built 4 bass guitars, and that isn't one of them. Guess I'll have to head back to '86 and ask around...Thanks!
