Does anyone know how to reset the amp once the thermal protective muting has been trigered?

Try unplugging it and waiting 20 minutes or so. It should reset once the amp cools down.

You could try asking this question in the Amps forum. I'll move it there now.

I would say that if your amp is going into protection there is something wrong with how you are using it! What speakers are you using with it? Are your speaker cables of good quality and working properly? How old is the amp?
