Motorcycle riding pants, more specifically. I'm looking for something in textile (Cordura ideally) that's well vented for the summer, with liners for 3 season use. Armor is appreciated. <$200 would be great. 38 waist, 29 inseam.

They make blue jeans with flannal linings, OK for cooler conditions, probably to hot for summer riding.

Icon makes the best riding gear out there.
They have good riding cloths that are made for riding with out looking like you just stepped off the race track or just came from Sturgis.

That or a good pair of Carhart canvas pants will take a beating too.

My pants caught on fire once when I was riding. Guess I hadn't washed those jeans enough, and the sizing started smoking, then I saw flames. Heavy traffic, nowhere to get off the bike, etc. Not good. Eventually I was able to pull into a Midas and ask if I could have some water. The guy shrugged and pointed me to the restroom, so I submerged as much of my boot / pants leg as possible in the toilet. There really wasn't much choice; the flames were pretty high. :meh:

Yeah, I mean...there's already leather on the seat, so it's not THAT different. Consider it becoming "one" with the bike.

Many expletives. Someone stole my gloves. Looks like I'll be spending my pants money on gloves instead. I hate thieves.

Thanks for all the help folks. Got a cheap pair of gloves from a friend that'll tide me over for now, so pants are back on the menu.

  17. I ordered Bohn Armored pants- not "pants" but rather armored stockings you wear under any pants. I prefer to call them Mantihose lol. You can buy them in mesh (summer) spandex (all season) or a thicker material (winter). The set costs ~$180 but you can switch the armor to other pant types, which are only $79. I have the mesh and they are a little scratchy to walk around in all day but they sure are cool- I wear them on and off road and they don't make me hot. The armor is really good quality and in all the right places- knees, shins, thighs, tailbone, and hips, yet is not bulky. Did I mention they also make armored shirts? Yeah.
