Help me date a Fender jazz

    Lookin at a Fender Jazz that has serial no S8850503
    Can anyone tell me how old it is?!

    S8 should be 1978 - which means she's legally old enough for you to date.

    She's hangin at a local pawnshop which does auctions. Right now she's at aprox. 400€. five days left of the auction so we'll see. Someone has abused here pretty bad, no pickguard etc.

    The thing that confuses me is that everywhere i look it says S8 + 5 digits This one has S8 + 6 digits?!

    According to a Fender book I have, it's more likely to be somewhere around June of 81.
