So... I woud like to buy a Fender Jazz bass '78.

I've checked the serial number and it's ok... but I know that the serial number it's the easiest thing to falsificate.

So ... I manage to get the serial number on the pickups
which is: 125880 and the serial number on the pots which is:
    3446 250K A R1377944

could someone help me identify if the bass is "true vintage" or not?

Or can post me some links where I could see and verify those things by myself ?

Also I apologize if there were already threads about that, maybe you can post me the link to them ...

    I'm in a hurry!! Thank you ;)))

the pickups are 1980 and the pots 1979. so in actuality the bass is a 1980. the s8 serial was used for a big span of years.

last two digits on the pickups are the year. the pot has the week of manufacture and the year. 44th week of 79
