Ok. So's I goes out and buys dis Mexi-Fender type bass. Ya know what I'm talkin' about...sunburst Jazz body, P-bass neck, yadda-yadda.

So now I'm thinkin', "Dude.....You already gots a Marcus Miller. How funky is dat, eh? You think you can pull off somethin' funkier than that? Get outta here"

So now I'm really thinkin'..."How funky could I make this here Mexi-Fender without spendin' up the whole bankroll?", know what I'm sayin'?

Then I'm thinkin'...."I could drop a J-Retro in it and BAM! There ya go. Funk for days". But on the otha hand, I'm also thinkin' "Maybe dey got somethin' with that Audere J3 or J5 or whateva that gizmo is." Whaddaya think about that, eh?

If you're gonna play stuff like

    • Tell Me Somethin' Good (Rufus & Chaka Khan)
    • Early In The Mornin' (Gap Band)
    • Strange (Cameo)
    • Serpentine Fire (EWF)
    • Ocassional Steely Dan stuff

how would you mod the Mexi-Fender?

Your gonna like the J-retro. The Audere's won't have enough funk for everything.
