Ok. I have an old Ibanez SR1305. I love the way it plays, but the tone leaves something to be desired. I want to overhaul this thing! New pups, preamp, bridge (16mm spacing) - the works! Can someone suggest some good combos that I can drop into this thing? BTW - I'm not a big fan of the Bartolini tone, so I'd like to try something else...
  2. My favourite combo of pickups and pre - EMG DC40 HB pickups in bridge and neck plus Aguilar OBP-1 preamp. As for a bridge check out some of the stuff on the Warmoth site.Hipshot maybe?Pickups may not quite fill the route left by the Ibanez pickups but they are not that different.
Thumbs up for the old 1305.Ruined the series when they started making the Fieldy bass instead.
Send me some pics when yer done.I play Spector now but love that model for the woods!

Thanks man! yeah, i dig EMG's. If I go with a setup like that, I'll probably go with the aggie obp-3 pre. Love those mids! :D Anyone else got suggestions?
