Putting together a new band with some members of other bands that are falling apart. We have kicked around a bunch of names. I have listed some below. Give me your thoughts on these or any ideas of your own?

Us: A mix of rock styles, but a lot of modern stuff, alternative stuff, some oldies. If this helps.

lol...well, as long as you're in California, what's the harm, eh? My partner in this didn't have that one on his "top 5" list anyway

For the record, Apocolypse Hoboken is already taken - a Chicago punk band.

really? well scratch that one off, if they are a signed, national act.

I don't really care if we double the name of some local cover band somewhere - heck, I found 4 other "Furious George" bands after we chose the name, one in Arizona, one in the UK, a previous now defunct punk band in New York, and one in Australia.

Since we stay in northern Virginia, the name isn't going to be much of an issue.

I hear ya. I'm in the same boat trying to figure out a band name. Everytime we come up with something, we Google it and find that some other band in BFE already has it.

We've finally decided that unless they're signed and touring, it's really not that much of an issue to duplicate. It's not like our group is going anywhere. :D

I do like Victorious Secret, though. ;)

  7. I think the first two are the best. I like "Prozac Jane" the best, though. "Atomic Candy Machine" would be very fun, as well.

"The Willing" sounds kind of cool, but it sounds almost too trendy. There are a lot of bands right now with similar sounding names like the Calling, etc.

The Underwear Wolves has two major advantages: one, it has wolves in the name. Two, it will encourage women to throw their underwear at you. Although it's not quite as cool as the Panty Lions.

  12. The Nymphomercials... followed closely by Victorious Secret. That's a pretty good list actually, I like a bunch of those.

I voted for The Nymphomercials because it make me laugh. That's usually a good thing for people to do when they see your posters and whatnot.

  14. I've vowed to post this in every "band name" thread.

    Pink Unicorn Horsey.

It works best if you're playing metal, though.

"Shake Well" would roll off the tongue best when a person is drunk, so it gets my vote.

this is interesting. votes for different names, but mainly clustering around 4 of them.....hmmmmm...thanks for the ideas and the votes! keep them coming!

  20. I quite liked a couple of these, primarily

Prozac Jane & Nymphomercials. Too bad you didn't have a chick in the band, you could use that whole name together.

Victorious Secret is clever, and "the Willing" is indeed trendy.
