I have an Ernie Ball SR-4, and my roomates dog knocked it over!! as it fell the headstock hit a coffee table. Now if you put slight down pressure on the neck it creaks and slips. I am also having a hard time keeping it in tune, an issue I've NEVER had with this bass.. I have made sure the neck screws were tightend, but it diddn't fix my problem what can be done to fix this????
I'd say the first thing is to get it to a tech and have him look at it to see if there is any damage to it and how serious it is. It may only be the screws themselves may have bent or been ripped out of their holes. If that's the case it's an easy enough fix. Or, the truss rod may need adjusting. Also an easy fix. More serious would be a crack in the neck, like right around the headstock where it meets the neck. Look closely for that first.
thanks man!! luckily it's crack-free, I'm going to get it to a tech this week and hopefully they can fix it. I'll post the results here for future rererence to other guys who have clumsy dogs within distance of their bass haha
