Hi Folks. Need help please on how I should wire a DP123 jazz bass pickup set to a Glockenklang 2-band preamp (4 knob). Below is the wiring diagram for the Glock pre-amp. My pre-amp is the 2-band version so please just ignore the MID pot in the diagram. I would like to wire it with the pickups in normal parallel mode. Can you please help specify where will the Red, Green, Black, and White wires of the neck and bridge pickup go in this diagram? Appreciate any help. Many thanks for your time. Cheers! Your diagram image link/attachment is no good. For “standard Dimarzio wiring… Red = hot Green = ground Black & White connected together.
Hi, Sorry for the late reply. I have received help from Dimarzio so my original question was answered. I have another question though and this this time its for Glockenklang: Based on the pre-amp wiring diagram below, Is it necessary to solder my string-bridge ground wire to the the bass-knob terminal I circled in RED in this diagram? Thanks for your help again.
All ground should be connected in some fashion, so I would use the easiest, most convenient ground connection. The output jack ground lug is usually a safe bet. Does @Helge_Glock have a recommendation?
Thanks Slater. I had a look at the connections again and I have decided to run a separate wire from the terminal I circled in the diagram to the back of the volume pot and merged my bridge ground wire there. This was how it was wired originally with the old pre-amp that I took out. I will wait for Helge though to hear his thoughts on it.
The volume is already grounded via the gray cable to the bass board. You can solder the bridge ground to the circled ground point, yes.
