  1. Hi guys
I wish to install GT 12AX7-M (Mullard) tubes inside my SVT3 Pro ... which would be the best position ? I was thinking 2° and 3° position and eventually one in the driver tube section .. Could be this a good idea ? 1° position I'm stuck with a 12AX7-C
Anyone know 12AX7-U serbian made ?
Any advice is well accepted ...

  2. Is it through that touching tubes with hands can make a tube less performing due to grease on our skin ?
  3. I think generally the first preamp tube will have the greatest tonal effect, so put the best one in there.

Erm, i dont think so (about the grease), because its an electrical circuit inside the vacuum, so i dont see how grease could affect it :S
  4. No. You're confusing vacuum tubes with halogen light bulbs. Halogen bulbs burn so hot that oil from your hands can cause the glass to crack. Vacuum tubes don't run anywhere near that hot.

I've also been told not to touch tubes with your hands but I've reseated almost all my tubes over time by hand and never ran into a problem.
