Hey i'm looking into investing in a new amp and i have about 1200$ to pay for it give or take (including tax in that).right now i'm looking at the SWR 4004 Full Stack for 1100. Is there anything else better out there then this for the mnoey?

If you have any sugjestinos please give them and the prices of the itmes too if you have them.

I'm in a band with a drummer who does alot of dubble bass and the guitarist has a peavey Tripple X so you can see i need something nice and loud for my buck but also with nice sound

If you can stand buying used gear, you can get some pretty sweet prices. Try one of the following:

new SWR bass 350x: $700-$750 (depending on the store)
used SWR Henry 8x8: $450-500 (there's one on ebay now)

New Bass 350x and a couple of "budget" cabs from Peavey, Avatar, etc.

    Used SM-500 ($600-800) and a used Goliath ($400-500)

Used bass 350 or SM-400 (about $400, give or take) and a new Goliath (about $700) or a used stack.

If you gotta buy from musician's friend, I'd recommend a Goliath III and a Workingman 2004 head. I got nothing against workingman heads, but them speakers is awful.

You might wanna look into some Hartke stuff. Like an HA3500 with some XL cabs. www.mattsmusic.com has great deals on Hartke stuff. The HA3500 is 350 watts but from what most people say its seems much louder.
  6. Personally, I'd pick a Carvin head and an Eden cab for that money, with one or the other probably having to be used. Say an R1000 bridged into a used 8 ohm D410XLT.
  7. The things i would do with $1200............ :)

I'm sure you can get some kickin used Eden head/cab. Actually you can probably get mostly anything in the used compartment. BUT i would do better then the SWR workingman with that kind of money. Avatar cabs are sweet with a Hartke 3500 head (orgasmic  ). Maybe do some research on the Avatar cabs.. But i would def. look into some used eden stuff. They are spoken of HIGHLY in these forums.
