Im thinking of building a bass, since i cant find all i want in one bass. I want to get that funky musicman sound, so what wood should i use for the body? And i would like a koa top with it, could that work? I want it to look like that new victor bailey signature bass, except with different pickups and a 24 fret neck

Use swamp ash or soft maple for the body and maple/maple neck/f-board. the koa may add some warmth to the tone so stick with brighter tone woods everywhere else.
