Help - P-Bass Body Wood?

    I have a late 70s or early 80s P-Bass from the "gem" series. It's a transparent Emerald Blue with a Maple board. I was wondering what the body wood was for this bass. It's fairly heavy, about 10 lbs on the bathroom scale. Hopefully, the pictures help...

    yup that looks like ash and my '78 P is a fairly heavy chunk of ash....

    I also think it's ash. Could you post a full pic of the bass, please? Methinks this should be one sexy beast of a bass. :bassist:
