Hey guys, I have a pretty low end amp- a Peavey TKO 65- and it would seem to have a problem. You see, whenever I turn the volume up past about 4 or 5, the amp starts buzzing, or rattling- it just gets a nasty sound that comepletely turns off my want to play loud.

Im wondering if anyone here has ever owned a TKO 65, or another peavey like it, and if so, did you have have problem? And do you know how to fix it?
  2. I had the TKO 115, and it had the same problem. Solution: sold it.

man, real ****ty line of amps huh?
  4. I've had one of those as a practice amp for like 20 yrs and beat the crap out of it. It still sounds fine. I assume you've taken the grill off and tightened up the speaker mounting screws etc? Lots of things can loosen up over time and resonate at certain frequencies. The DDT as well will cause some nasty distortion if you're running it hard. It definitely won't cut it in a loud situation. Still it could just be pooched.
    Good luck.
