Ed Friedland's book - "Jazz Bass" is a good starter. As is Rufus Reid's "Evolving Bassist Millenium edition" - lots of material! The ultimate reference for me is "The Jazz Theory Book" by Mark Levine.

But far and away the best way to learn is to play the music with other people - a tutor can be a great help as well!
