Can anyone tell me why that, when I turn my amp on (GK Fusion550), it sounds like there's a major thunderstorm approaching; usually last for about 5 sometimes 10 minutes long and then it doesn't do it anymore for the entire time that I'm playing/practicing, but it happens every time I turn my amp on. Thanks in advance.

  2. This can be caused by plate load resistors going bad, or bad / loose tube sockets. It would be best to get it to a technician for proper troubleshooting.

You could try reseating the tubes first. If no change, swap the tubes around (change positions) and see if the nature (sound) of the noise changes. if it does, then you likely have a bad tube. If moving the tubes around does nothing, it's probably not a tube.

  5. Bad sockets will usually show up by wiggling the tube slightly within it's socket while operating, but it could also be mechanically sensitive / intermittent components soldered to the socket's lugs.
