Help with a new cab

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by pgnbstrd, Mar 23, 2003.

  1. I currently have an Ampeg svt610hlf cab that I’m running with a Svt4pro head. I have a good friend whose bass player wants to buy my cab, for exactly what I paid for it. I've been gassing over the new Aguilar gs412 4x12 for some time now. The gs412 is almost the same size same power handling and weight as the 6x10. I've been VERY happy with my 610 for the year I've had it, but I think I'll get more of the low mid/mid punch/cut that I'm looking for in my new band. Anyone have any suggestions? Or advice on another cab that may be an even better replacement?
    Thanks,
    Jeremy

Actually, doesn't the gs412 have twice the power handling as the 610hlf? The 610hlf is rated at 600w RMS, and if I remember correctly the gs412 can handle 1200w RMS...

  3. the 610 is 1200 peak 600 rm.. i thought the aggie was the same 1200 peak

I'm pretty sure it's 1200 RMS, but I could be wrong...
