Help with Aphex big bottom pedal board position?

Discussion in 'Effects [BG]' started by Polehammer, Sep 13, 2016.

  1. Hi guys, I need some advice please? I want to know what the best position would be on my effects board to place an aphex big bottom aural exciter? I'm using ehx pog, exh bass wah, boss chorus, ehx bass balls, ehx bass big Muff, tuner and am a bit stumped as to where I should best position things? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

With most of those pedals, the only rule is "try different arrangements and see what sounds good to you". No other rules, and hardly any guidelines. But for the Aphex specifically, it was designed to be the very last thing in the chain. This is because if you put other pedals after it, they can modify and even nullify part of its process (shifting the phase of certain frequencies). Of course, the same thing can happen when you adjust the EQ on your amp, so... Put it last and hope for the best.

I use my bass xciter as my di, at the end of the board.
Normally I just use it for di only gigs
