Just ran across an interesting specimen in a pawn shop that I've not seen before nor heard of. Appeared to be an authentic (judging by neck plate) Fender Custom Shop 30" short scale Jazz Bass. Fairly heavy relic, but build and fit beyond the body finish looked top notch. Anyone have any background info or ideas on on what this might be? Could this be an imitation or is it the real deal?

Sounds odd, never heard of such a thing.

The CS instruments tend not to stray too far in things like scale length, but you never know...

Well,I saw it traveling and it's a little off the beaten path, so I'm not likely to go out of my way to snap any pics - sorry. After some poking around on the web and based on your replies, I'm pretty sure it's not what it's trying to be. Thanks for weighing in.

I know the exact bass(mint green) and pawn shop you're talking about and wondered the same thing . there was a partial serial # on the decal but who knows he went down a hundred bucks on it though ..haha
