i bought a used p bass from guitar center and it came with these black roundwound strings. they feel like they have something on them but i think thats just the paint and the have gold ball ends. can anyone help me identify them? IMG_20180115_114458183. IMG_20180115_114437082.

They could be Auroras but considering most music retailers sell Black Beauties chances are that's what they are. I'm assuming the silks at the tuner end aren't multi colored which would make them rotosound Nexus but you probably would've mentioned that.

If the fat part of the E String is partially wrapped around the post then they probably are. DR Strings are extra long. Great for 35 inch scale and through body stringing basses.
