Recently purchased a 60's CV Squier P bass without a pickup. I found these is my "junk" drawer and I'm going to try them out and I was hoping someone in TB land might be able to Identify the maker. I'm thinking Schaller due to the hex screws?
    Any help greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

One coil is 6k ohms, the other is 8k!?

That is the pickup that put DiMarzio on the map. Those look like early mid 1980's patent pending design. I had a set that came stock in a lefty '85 Kramer 4000 I ordered. Now they are called 'Model P' DP122

Did you like them? Change them out?
    Thanks!

Oh Yeah! They were KILLER. The adjustable individual pole pieces allowed me to dial in total string balance. Very hip.

The only reason to change them out would be due to failure. As you can see they are epoxy potted and are therefore unrewindable.

Yours may have problems. Two different colors and two different ohms readings just don't jive to well. You'll just have to install them and see.

Dimarzio made (and still makes) model P's. A sledgehammer of a pickup.

Schaller made the same design - not sure what the arrangement between tge companies was, but I had basses with both; they sounded the same.
