This is out of my skill level but I always liked this song from the 70s. I'm watching this guy play it - very, very well - to figure out the tab. It appears he's playing a scale, but he's going too fast for me to figure it out. Can anyone help with just the first few lines of the song - particularly the chorus? The - "I got my mind made up - come on you can get it - get it girl..." groove part Thanks for any help offered! Mike
Here's a basic 4-bar groove thing to try...sorry for the primitive method. Rhythm: |1__a__&a-&_e--|1__a__&a-&_e--| |1__a___a3_&_----|1__a___a3_&__&_| Notes (Upper case = E-string; lower case = octaves on the D-string): |F__GG__ff-Bb_C--|F__G__ff-Bb_C--| |F__G___fg_G_---|F__G___fg_G___g_| A suggestion for this kinda Funk- Think subdivisions. C-O-U-N-T. Internalize |1e&a2e&a3e&a4e&a| Hopefully, you will be able to stick a Note or a Rest anywhere in the bar you want. It's a life-long practice, too.
There are several websites and apps that can be helpful when trying to figure out fast riffs. First, a number of sites will convert youtube videos to mp3 files and allow you to download them. Second, apps like Audacity will allow you to slowdown playback without changing the pitch. It's how I've figured out a number of songs.
