Help with "Tears In Heaven" please?

I did pretty well last night switching the guitar tabs from the e-chords version of the melody over to bass with the single notes.

The power chords are presenting more of a challenge. I'm not quite sure how to convert those. I'm also wondering if I'm using the correct technique to play them. I've been attempting them with fingerstyle and it occurred to me that this song may sound better with a pick.

If anyone is familiar with this song I'd really appreciate your help!
