I`m about to wire my newbuilt cab. Ive got a 4-pole speakon female on the cab. How do I hook up the speaker (one 12" Eminence) to that speakon? Speaker +/- to speakon 1+ 1- 2+ or 2+?

Im not good at these American units. Gauge? The cable I use inside the cab has 2 x 1,60 mm2 leaders.

  4. Your best option is 1+ and 1-. As long as the wire coming out of it is wired the same then you should have no problems. Its a four connection desigin so if u say for example had a biamped cab, you could run both highpass and Lopass into the cab on one length of wire and one socket. For your setup use 1+ and 1-

    Good luck, Matt

1.6 mm2 is an smidgeon smaller than 14 AWG if the on-line charts are telling the truth...

I'd say for wiring inside a loudspeaker enclosure, 1.6 mm^2 is fine. The difference in resistance between that and the next larger size will be negligable for the length involved, and 1.6 mm^2 will be a lot easier to work with.

Most cabinet manufacturers use smaller wire than you are.
