Help!

    I just got a 5 string bass from SX and the strings are against the frets and I dont know how to raise the strings. Could anybody please tell me how to?

    I'd say to get it setup if its new - a setup will help any bass.

    Bu to raise the strings, you will want to raise the action - but don't overdo it...

    Adjust the truss rod, but don't go crazy with it...

    don't do anything to the truss rod.

    first raise the saddles. the saddles are the little things that hold up the strings on the bridge (bottom of bass). use an allen wrench to do that for whatever size it is. that should fix your problem.
