When I start building my bass, which will be a while, I was thinking of an old style fenderish type thing, I was wondering if you guys could give my some websites that might give me ideas, besides the fender website itself.

Umm... what kind of ideas are you looking for? For wood types, checkout the warmoth site, they make an excellent quality fender type replacment bodies and necks with many different options for inlays and wood types and neck profiles...

For other "Fender" type stuff I would suggest also checking out the Sadowsky, Tonebender, and other similar sites.

Even try sites like mine (shameless plug, although I don't build any type of "fender" type bass...), JP Basses out of Paris, LeFay basses out of Germany, Nordstrands, David King, Sheldon Dingwall, etc... etc. Looking at all the exceptional work that these smaller builders offer will surely get you to thinking about some possibilities for a future bass for you.
