    Yes it's normal. Your 14.............

Chill out, listen to some music, hang with friends, play bass, play video games. Your fine.

It's not normal at all. I don't know your situation, but your brief description sounded like my wife. Start off by going to your family physician and talk about what you're feeling. He/she can then refer you to a specialist. Please don't take these feelings lightly. Talk to someone ASAP.
  6. Assuming you are not a troll, you are 14. You have yet to even live life, so don't think for a second that you can consciously make the decision to end your life.

Your life is "crazy", well explain. You'd be surprised how crazy some of the lives of people at TB are.

And yes, for a teenager, in this day and age it is increasingly more normal for you to think things like that, I did sometimes at your age, but now... I just think it was silly on my part. There is a huge difference between feeling something, and acting upon something. Try to rationalize your emotions and figure things out, try to feel what is really bothering you and deal with it. Take control of your life, don't let it control you.

Sounds like depression. I've been there, it sucked. I'm sure you can find info online about what to do about it.

First stop and think. If there is anyone you trust with something as important as this go talk to them. When I was your age I too thought life was tough and lots of things were going all wrong. But man you are young and things will get better. You have you entire life ahead of you, don't do something stupid. And, you are a bass player, we need you! :)

Talk to your parents. They love you more than anyone in the world ever will. And I do mean EVER.

em well i cant say at your age that i never had the same feeling but just do things you like to do and if people are making fun of you just vent your anger through bass, trust me a great way!

but dont worry about it you'll be fine, just dont hurt yourself!

Listen, I talked to a good friend of mine, who has tried suicide, and who has MANY problems. I told her she needed to get away.
And now, things changed for her. She waited it out, and lived life to the best she could.
She's now getting married, and moving to England to start over.

Also, who cares if you can't read sheet music?
I've been playing for 7 years, and I'm at College for a Degree in Jazz. I can BARELY read sheet music.

Listen, there is a lot to live for out there. Friends come and go. You'll make more friends. You're 14. During your teen years, you meet your lifelong friends. And I'm sure many people here on TB can vouch for that.

    Calm down, drink some water.
I can barely read sheet music and I've been playing since I was 14.:meh:
There's nothing wrong with only knowing 4 songs, as long as you play the hell out of them.:D
What do you mean you don't have any friends, there are 65320 friends right here on TB.

If your friends split because you are really into maiden then they sucked in the first place (and they have no taste, Maiden rules!!!).

At 14 you are supposed to suck, your band is supposed to suck, your supposed to feel awkward and lonely, honestly your life is supposed to suck. It's normal at your age bro, I felt the same way. Time will make it all better. Just hang in there and don't do anything stupid k?

I've been a *professional* musician for 25 years (Holy Crap! ) and I can't read sheet music at all.

Now, go talk to your Mom. Whether you think so right now or not, she loves you. If you talk to her calmly and tell her how you're feeling, she'll most probably do whatever she can to help you.

If not, then talk to your doctor or find a local counseling center. Look in the phonebook or check online for listings in your area -- There *are* people who want to help.

But, don't look to the Internet. The people here don't know you and you don't know them. And, you don't know the quality of the advice you'll get here.

In short, many 14 year olds feel as you do. Unfortunately, it's not that unusual. Fortunately, because so many people have felt like you, there are places where you can find help.

Wait, you're obsessed with Iron Maiden but you don't have friends? I'm pretty sure there's some local groups for Maiden fans that you could probably check out and meet people.

But yeah, it's sadly normal for you to have those kind of feelings. In this day and age, people glamorize the idea that killing yourself is acceptable. Well, it isn't. So there.

Oh and for what it's worth, I can read sheet music, but not for bass. Why? Because I joined band, where you'll always have friends.
