I'm currently using a fender jass bass and i love the sound i can get out of it. But i hate to say that the damn thing is just too heavy at times. Can anyone recommend a bass that has a sound similar to the fenders, but is just lighter in weight? I have been having this problem for a few months now, but i can't find anything. I have been sticking with the fender though. any help would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks.

Basses can vary a lot in weight. It will help a lot if you use a nice wide leather strap (3 1/2 to 4"). I like Levy's straps. If the weight is really a big deal to you, go to the music store and try on a bunch for size, including some other Fender Jazzes.
