I would say that your strings don't have frets.

  3. WHAT!?!?!?!?! What is then? I don't know much about guitars that is why i am here to learn about them!

Frets are the metal bars imbedded in your fingerboard that the string rests against when you play a note. So strings can't have frets, but basses can.

The frets are the strips of metal on your fretboard.

Okay, since you appear to be serious... The bottom bass has frets, the top bass is fretless. See the difference?
