Bought it for 100.00 from a idiot a couple years ago! It went through a fire and the pics were melted and the finish was bubbled up! You couldnt even see the fender logo anymore! So i took it to a luthier in kc and had him go through it and confirm the year! He gave her a new paint job and pickups! She is as smooth as they get!:D

    $100 eh? That's the best $100 spent on a bass that I have heard. Congratulations, she's a beauty! :)

That looks like a cool jazz bass, but i'm pretty sure a p-bass looks a little more like this:

Hey, but you got a '67 jazz bass, even better, unless you are trying to be like jamerson...

Good point, the pickup configuration and pickguard is Jazz Bass.

A 1967 Jazz Bass is even nicer - it would be a CBS first version.

That would be a Jazz bass.

It had the offset contour, three knobs, and the placement of the output jack of a jazzbass, too.

Wasn't 1967 part of the "transition" period as some people called it, before CBS made drastic changes?
  8. What did CBS change? Ive never heard a good thing about the CBS takeover. Do they still own Fender?

CBS has had no involvement with Fender since 1985.
