Hernandez 5 String?

    While killing time today I scoped out the window at my fav local music shop, Gary had Hernandez 5 string basses hanging. Are these playable, worth entry level?

    (And what with that Gene Simmons beer/court/tongue commercial? give me a break...)

    Gary's Guitars in Portsmouth! Actually, the name of the bass is Fernandez. Great little basses.

    YA! Next to the Irish Grocery Store, my eyes must really be going, I thought I read a H, not a F on the head. Maybe we'll run into each other there Em, Im thinking of venturing into 5 string territory for fun...

    I have a 90's APB-5 that I modded with EMG P5J pu and the EMG BTS System. Excellent tone and playability. This bass is a part of my regular rotation. That's it in my avatar.
    Watch out for the cheapo versions.
    Oh, by the way you may need to see the optometrist.
    The name on the bass is Fernandes not Hernandez.
