Can you please tell me the advantages of an hexagonal core in the string?

Hex core wire is supposed to make the windings less prone to slippage. It does also make the string somewhat stiffer, i.e. less supple, which some find desirable.

  3. A stiffer string should be good when tuning down

Lo Riders play noticeably different from other types of strings. In the end I felt like they werent a great choice for metal.
