What's with all the doofus threads tonight? Freebies all around!

Dave, love the avatar, man. I recently introduced my fiancee's kids to the Contra. Her son (12) went through thirty guys in two levels, so I let him steal some of mine. Her oldest daughter (10) did much better. I think she finished the game with me, with lives to spare. What a **** ending, huh?

Playing the old versions, or the new PS2 one? I almost had a seizure when I first played the PS2 one. So freaking extreme, with the death metal going in the background as you slaughter bad guys in all your side-scrolling glory.

No emulator for me, Dave. My fiancee bought me a NES two Sweetest Days ago (my brother gave ours away eons ago). It worked, but not very well. I was able to score a brand-new 72-pin off of eBay (the connector and shipping were like, 10 bucks) and now she works like a charm. Now, if I could just score a controller rebuild kit...

I was referring to the NES version of Contra, Vox. Although, I thought the PS2 version looked pretty ****in' cool. I'll ask my buddy if he's played it yet. Maybe I'll end up renting it...
  11. before this thread gets any off topic (in the off topic section...hmmmmm) hey buttbass! mind if i call u butt?

Did ya'll see that Nintendo has released its "Classic Collection" for the Game Boy? Let's look in on the boardroom as that decision's made:

Nintendo Exec 1: "Dammit, we've run out of fresh ideas! What do we do now?"

Nintendo Exec 2: "Hey! What if we were to re-release all the old-school Nintendo games? That's frickin' classic!"

Nintendo Execs 1, 3, 4 and 5: "Whoo, yeah! Consider it done. Now, let's go to lunch. Who's buyin' today?"

    :rollno:

this is stupid for many reasons, including the fact that they already released classic NES games via E-Reader thingie (a card that holds desired game, cheaper too).

Also, I'd rather buy one of those 512 mbit Flash cartridges that would hold every NES games ever and emulate them

  17. here we have the buttbass, a small creature who only comes out from under the earth or wherever he is once every 13 years. while he is out, he makes alot of noise and much of it makes no sense. alas, a TB'er has eaten him alive, thus, he returns to wherever he was before. NEXT, on A&E
